A cassette floor or heavy-duty floor is a floor construction made of modular panels or cassettes that can be installed and dismantled easily and quickly. As a result, it is often used to create a temporary solid and even surface for events, fairs, exhibitions and other alike events, regardless of the terrain or surface.
The frame and the ground beams of the cassette floor are made of extruded aluminium with a wall thickness of 2.5 mm, which makes the floor very light and yet extremely strong. In addition, the planks are made from strong and durable pre-dried pine wood. The pine wood is PEFC certified, which means that the wood comes from sustainably managed forests.
The lifespan of the Above & Beyond cassette floor is 10 - 15 years.

As standard, the cassette floor can handle a maximum spread load of 1000 kg / 2.5 m². With one extra ground beam underneath to support the floor, the maximum spread load is 2000 kg / 2.5 m² and with two extra ground beams even 3000 kg / 2.5 m².
One cassette measures 250 x 100 x 12 cm and thus has a surface of 2.5 m².

What to consider when buying flooring

When purchasing event flooring, there are several important factors to consider to ensure you make the right choice: First and foremost, determine which type of flooring best suits your event. There are different options, such as floor cassettes, plastic flooring, and wooden floor, each with its own advantages. Check whether the flooring can withstand heavy use and if it is suitable for the specific conditions of your event. Will the flooring need to remain in place for a long time? Will it be used indoors or outdoors? Durable materials can help ensure the flooring lasts longer and does not wear out quickly. Consider how easy the flooring is to install. Especially for events that require quick setup, the installation time and type of flooring can be crucial. Finally, think about how the flooring will be transported and stored. Available transportation methods and storage space can influence your choice of one flooring type over another.

How to maintain your flooring

Maintaining your event flooring is essential to prolong its lifespan and ensure it remains safe and appealing for use. Keep the flooring clean by regularly removing dirt, dust, and debris. This can be done with a broom or vacuum cleaner. For stubborn stains, it’s important to use the right cleaning products suitable for the flooring material (such as wood, PVC, or other plastic materials). A mild detergent and a soft cloth are usually sufficient to keep the flooring in good condition. For outdoor flooring, ensure it can dry properly after rain or other wet conditions. This helps prevent mold and rot. Make sure water does not accumulate on the flooring, especially with wooden floors. A protective cover can also help shield the flooring when not in use. Regularly inspect the flooring for damages such as splinters, cracks, or other wear and tear. This is particularly important for wooden floors, where prompt intervention is necessary to prevent further damage. Minor damages can often be easily repaired with wood glue or filler. With cassette flooring, you can easily replace broken, rotten, or damaged planks. When the flooring is not in use, ensure it is stored properly. Flooring pieces should be kept dry and on a flat surface to prevent warping or damage. Consider using protective mats or felt pads under heavy furniture or equipment placed on the flooring. This can help prevent scratches and dents.
