Printing
The design must be created using the designated Above & Beyond design template. The template can be found in the downloads section of the desired product. For proper submission of your design, we recommend first reviewing our submission specifications and adhering to them.
Our graphic designer will review your design and request adjustments if necessary. Once the design is correctly submitted, it will proceed to production. Allow approximately 2 weeks for production.
For proper submission of logos or photos, we recommend first reviewing our submission specifications and following them. Files that are typically usable include AI or EPS files. If you're unsure about this, contact the person who designed your logo; they will certainly be able to help.
Photos must always be of good quality (preferably taken with a professional camera). Send your logo and/or photos to your Above & Beyond contact person or, for webshop orders, to info@abnd.com. Please indicate how you would like the design to be created.
Our graphic designer will create a design based on the submitted logos/photos, which you will receive via email. The design will only go into production once you have provided written approval. Allow approximately 2 weeks for production.
Before we start production, we will send you the design via email in PDF format (if you chose for us to create the design). Only after we receive your written approval (via email) will we proceed with production.
Even if you submit your own design using the provided template, our graphic designer will review your design and request any necessary adjustments. Once the design is correctly submitted, it will proceed to production. Please allow for a production timeline of approximately two weeks.
Tents
With single-sided printing, the sidewall is printed on one side with your logo, slogan, text, photo, etc. The unprinted side is always white or black (your choice). You can decide whether to have the sidewall printed on the inside (visible from inside the tent) or the outside (visible from outside the tent).
If you want the unprinted side in a different color (one of our standard colors or a custom color), this is considered printing, and double-sided printing will be charged instead of standard single-sided printing.
With double-sided printing, two single-sided printed sidewalls are essentially sewn together with a black intermediate layer. This ensures that the printing on one side does not show through to the other side of the sidewall.
Flags
For single-sided printing of flags, the message appears as a mirrored image on the back side of the flag. Single-sided printed flags are more durable for outdoor use than double-sided printed flags.
With double-sided printing of flags, two printed sections are stitched together with a non-translucent layer in between. This ensures that the message on the flag is equally readable on both sides. Double-sided printed flags are recommended only for indoor use, as friction causes double-sided printed flags to wear out more quickly.
The blue dashed line shows where windows will be located in the sidewall. Printing is not possible in these areas.
The red dashed line indicates where the zippers for the doors in the sidewalls will be. A door can be printed, but be cautious with smaller font sizes. The zipper may disrupt the continuity of text or images.
General questions
1. The roof
The roof of party tents is made of PE, Polyester, or PVC. Here's the difference between these materials:
- Polyethylene (PE):
PE is a plastic material commonly used for cheap party tents due to its lower cost. However, PE covers are of inferior quality and have a very short lifespan. This is why Above & Beyond does not offer foldable, pagoda, or star tents in PE. - Polyester with PVC Coating:
This material resembles woven fabric coated with a plastic layer, making it waterproof. - PVC:
A woven fabric coated with PVC on both sides, giving it a smooth appearance.
Advantages: Long lifespan and easy cleaning. - You can also judge the material's strength by its weight per square meter:
Heavier materials are sturdier.
Foldable tents are available in 320 g/m² Polyester or 450 g/m² PVC Light. - All our sails are:
Water-repellent, UV-resistant and fire-retardant - Seams: Thermally welded seams are much stronger than stitched ones.
2. The Sidewalls
Sidewalls are usually made of the same material as the roof covering (PE, Polyester, or PVC).
Other factors to consider:
- Attachment: Sidewalls can be attached to the roof and frame using Velcro, zippers, or elastic loops.
- At Above & Beyond, sidewalls are secured to the roof with a 5 cm wide Velcro strip around the tent. Additionally, the sidewalls are attached along the entire height of the poles with Velcro for a perfect seal, ensuring a completely water- and windproof solution.
- For 6- and 8-meter tents, dividing sidewalls into two sections offers more flexibility for combining windows, doors, and closed panels.
- Ground Fixation: Extra loops with reinforced eyelets for securing the tent to the ground prevent sidewalls from flapping in strong winds.
3. The Frame of the Party Tent
- The frame's durability is determined by the diameter and wall thickness of the tubes.
- Anodized Aluminum: Light, strong, and rust-free.
- Steel: If you choose steel, opt for galvanized or zinc-coated steel. Powder-coated steel will rust if the coating gets damaged.
- Prefer frames with bolts and screws over click systems.
- The material of the connectors influences the tent's quality. Aluminum connectors make the tent sturdier than connectors made of weaker materials like plastic or PVC.
Remember: A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
The most common damage to a party tent is caused by the combination of wind gusts and inadequate anchoring. Therefore, it is crucial to pay sufficient attention to proper anchoring.
Above & Beyond offers various accessories for optimal anchoring of your party tent. Take into account the type of surface where the tent will be anchored – we distinguish between hard surfaces (such as concrete, patios, gravel) and soft surfaces (grass, soil, sand).
General Guidelines
- Set up the tent correctly: Follow the instructions in the manual.
- Close the tent fully in strong winds: Always install all sidewalls and fully close the tent. An open tent catches more wind and may get lifted, causing damage or accidents. A fully enclosed party tent is less likely to be lifted by gusts than one with only the roof installed.
- Ensure sufficient anchoring based on tent type and size: For wind gusts over 60 km/h, we recommend additional anchoring. See our anchoring options by tent type below.
- If gusts exceeding 90 km/h are forecasted or an orange weather alert is issued, dismantle the tent immediately to avoid risks.
Based on experience, we recommend securing at least the four corners with stakes or weights. For larger foldable tents (e.g., 3 x 6 m or 4 x 8 m), anchor the center as well.
Weights Recommendation:
For tents up to 4 x 4 m: 15 kg weights.
For tents sized 3 x 6 m, 4 x 6 m, and 4 x 8 m: 30 kg weights.
Anchoring for star tents
A star tent must always be anchored at all six points. Our anchoring options include a round knob for attaching the star tent’s points (with horseshoe fittings).
Anchoring for pagoda tents
Robust pagoda tents require secure anchoring at every corner. Each upper corner profile includes a ring to attach the tension ratchet’s hook. The ratchet can then be tightened to either a ground anchor (for soft surfaces) or a concrete weight (for both soft and hard surfaces).
Anchoring for stretch tents
A stretch tent always has four corner clamps or loops. Additional clamps/loops should be placed approximately every 2 meters along the edges of the stretch fabric. Tension straps are attached to these clamps/loops.
Important: Never overtighten tension straps on a stretch tent. Straps should allow for about 10 cm of movement up and down. Excessive tension can damage the stretch fabric. Do not use tension ratchets for setting up a stretch tent.
Tension straps can be secured to stakes (for soft surfaces) or concrete weights (for both soft and hard surfaces). For additional reinforcement, a 20 m storm strap with buckles can be placed over the stretch tent and secured with stakes or concrete weights.
Recommended Extra Anchoring: For larger formats (10 x 12.5 m, 10 x 15 m, 10 x 21.5 m), during strong gusts, or when using wooden poles.
Anchoring for inflatable tents
Before attaching sandbags to the legs or sidewalls of the inflatable tent, ensure they are filled (with sand or gravel). We offer both empty sandbags and pre-filled ones (with gravel).
Round Sandbags: These are clipped to the leg straps at the bottom and tightened with straps. The diameter of the sandbags is tailored to the leg diameter for each tent size (3 x 3 m, 4 x 4 m, 5 x 5 m, and 6 x 6 m).
Gravel Sleeves: Place these on the PVC strip at the bottom of the sidewall. The plastic tabs on the gravel sleeve must be secured in the rings of the PVC strip.
For additional anchoring, nails can be used in the designated rings on the legs and sidewalls. Tension cords on the outside of the legs can also be attached to concrete weights for anchoring on hard surfaces.
Folding tent
We do not sell folding tents with low-quality polyethylene roof material. Instead, you can choose from:
- Polyester 420D 320 g/m²
- PVC 450 g/m²
- Polyester 600D 235 g/m² for printed options
Guaranteed best quality folding tents
- PVC protection on top of the poles prevents damage during use, setup, and transport.
- The roof poles feature a plastic protective cap, while the roof fabric has double protection and a pull cord for secure fastening. Sturdy aluminum top pole with dimensions of 40 x 40 mm.
- Smooth-edged connectors to avoid fabric or frame damage.
- Features an adjustable click closure to maintain perfect roof tension, unlike velcro loops that may tear over time.
- Stainless steel hooks on the roof corners secure the tent with storm straps.
- Corner and top poles have a diameter of 40 mm and a wall thickness of 2.5 mm.
- Extendable poles include a pull pin and a heavy-duty ring. Unlike push buttons, the pull pin is more durable and encased in plastic for added strength.
- Additional plastic glide pieces allow the poles to slide smoothly without metal-on-metal contact, reducing noise and wear.
- All connectors are made of aluminum, ensuring superior durability compared to PVC or fiberglass components.
- All screws, bolts, and nuts are made of rust-resistant nickel-plated steel.
- Galvanized steel tent feet with pre-drilled holes for securing the tent with stakes.
- Visible components like velcro and zippers match the color of the roof fabric.
- Roof fabric features double reinforcement at corners and contact points with the frame, made of durable PVC (650 g/m²).
- The roof fabric is equipped with a 5 cm wide velcro strip around the perimeter for extra-strong attachment of optional sidewalls and rain gutters.
Sidewalls are attached along their full height to the poles with velcro strips, ensuring a secure fit compared to single loops.
PVC has a very long lifespan and is very easy to clean. It is a woven fabric coated with PVC on both sides, giving it a smooth, even appearance. PVC roof covers also have a matte finish. If your folding tent will be left up for an extended period and exposed to more extreme weather conditions, PVC is the recommended option.
Polyester with a PVC coating looks like woven fabric and is completely waterproof due to the plastic layer. Polyester roof covers and sidewalls are the most popular choice. These sidewalls, like those made from PVC, are fully waterproof and UV-resistant.
The AluLite folding tent frame has a wall thickness of 1.5 mm and a square profile of 42 x 42 mm with rounded corners. These features make it suitable for occasional or short-term use.
The AluForce folding tent frame has a wall thickness of 2.5 mm and a square profile of 40 x 40 mm. If you need a tent for frequent and regular use, the AluForce frame is the better choice due to its enhanced durability.
The standard colors available for polyester sails are white, black, sand, light grey, and anthracite. Other colors such as pink, purple, yellow, orange, etc., are not standard colors and cost slightly more as they need to be specially produced upon request.
The standard colors for PVC sails are white, black, sand, and desert sand. Other colors can be ordered with custom printing.
To clean your folding tent, you can use a simple soap solution. For the dirtiest spots, you can also rinse with a light pressure washer, keeping a safe distance. It's a good idea to first test the chosen cleaning technique or product on a less visible area of fabric to assess its impact.
It is crucial that the folding tent is completely dry before storing it. Moisture can damage the fabric or cause mold growth. Additionally, we recommend transporting the folding tent standing up whenever possible, rather than lying down.
Above & Beyond offers various accessories for optimal anchoring of your pop-up gazebo:
- Weights
- Heavy-duty pegs/stakes with corresponding guy ropes or storm straps
- Small peg sets/nail sets for securing corner poles and sidewalls
From experience, we recommend always using at least one peg or weight at each of the four corners. For 3 x 6 m and 4 x 8 m tents, it is also best to secure them in the middle.
For a pop-up gazebo of 2.5 x 2.5 m or 3 x 3 m, we recommend weights of 15 kg per leg. For larger tents, we recommend anchoring of 30 kg per leg. Be sure to add extra anchoring for wind gusts starting at 60 km/h.
Additionally, a pop-up tent with all sides attached is less likely to be lifted by a wind gust than a tent with only the roof cover. We have also put together specific storm sets, which include nail sets, guy ropes, and stakes.
Discover all the anchoring options for the pop-up gazebo.
- Hold the frame in the middle and walk backward. Do not fully open the frame to place the roof cover.
- Place the roof cover so that the corners of the cover align with the corners of the frame.
- Each corner of the cover has two Velcro straps. Wrap these around the corner pole and tighten them. Be sure that the PVC corner protection is not doubled behind the pole.
- Attach the top of the roof to the roof mast using the small cord in the roof cover. (Step 4 does not apply to printed roof covers – they do not require attachment to the mast.)
Setting up the tent
- Hold the frame with both hands at the cross connection at the bottom and walk backward.
- Open the tent fully.
- Place your foot on the ground plate.
- The frame now needs to be pushed upward. Hold the frame with both hands and push it up until you hear a click. Do this for each leg.
- Hold the end of the click system and insert it through the square hole. Click them together.
- Pull the roof cover with one hand and tighten the strap with the other hand.
- Together, lift one side of the tent and pull both at the rings.
Extend the lower part until you hear a click. Do this first on one side and then on the other side.
Attaching the sidewalls
- To attach the sidewalls, start with one pole. Wrap the flaps around the pole and fasten them from top to bottom with the Velcro.
- Attach the fabric at the top. Note: Start with the pole where the Velcro has already been wrapped.
- Wrap the other end of the fabric from top to bottom around the pole. The opening in the fabric should fit around the click system. If done correctly, you’ll have a tight and neat wall.
- For the next wall, start at the outside of the tent.
- Stick the edge to the Velcro of the already attached wall and begin again from step 2. Place all the walls this way.
Anchoring the folding tent
There is a ring at each corner on the outside of the tent. Attach the guy ropes to these rings and tighten them.
You can secure the sidewalls at the bottom by placing tent pegs through the loops provided. There are also cutouts in the ground plates for this purpose. On these ground plates, you can also place the specially designed weights.

Folding up the tent
- Pull on the rings on one side of the tent (not diagonally) and lower the poles. Do this first on one side and then on the other side, until all poles are back to ground level.
- Detach the click system in the roof structure everywhere. Place your foot on the ground plate. Lightly push the roof frame up and pull on the ring. Lower the frame.
- Hold the frame with both hands (at the cross connection at the top, with two people, each on one end) and push toward the center.
The sidewalls for tents of 1.5 x 1.5 m, 2 x 3 m, 2 x 4 m, 2.5 x 2.5 m, 2.5 x 5 m, 3 x 3 m, 3 x 4.5 m, and 3 x 6 m are 2.06 m high. When the tent is set up at the second height setting, the sidewalls align with the bottom of the tent.
The sidewalls for tents of 4 x 4 m, 4 x 6 m, and 4 x 8 m are 2.15 m high. When the tent is set up at the second height setting, the sidewalls align with the bottom of the tent.
Pagoda tent
The setup time varies depending on the size of the tent. The times below can vary slightly. People who are experienced in setting up pagoda tents will require less time than those setting one up for the first time.
Generally, the following setup times apply:
- 3 x 3 m - 45 minutes
- 4 x 4 m - 60 minutes
- 5 x 5 m - 75 minutes
- 6 x 6 m - 90 minutes
There are several ways to clean your pagoda tent:
- With a mild brown/black soap or dishwashing liquid, lukewarm water, and a soft sponge.
- With a pressure washer. However, always keep a distance of at least 30 cm!
Never use acetone, thinner, or any form of solvent!
Stretchtent
Yes, you can! If desired, an expert can come on-site to set up the tent with you. They can also provide tips on the setup, taking into account the available space and the location of the stretch tent. For this, you pay a flat fee, supplemented with travel costs.
Feel free to contact us, and we will reach out to a partner near you.
- Small tears or holes can be repaired yourself using a Tear Aid kit.
- Repair kits are also available upon request. These kits include a piece of fabric in the same color and specifications as the material of the tent, along with a small pot of glue to attach the fabric over the damaged area.
- If the damage is too extensive to be repaired with Tear Aid or a repair kit, the tent can be sent back to production, where it will be professionally repaired.
There are several ways to clean your stretch tent:

For smaller stretch tents (6.5 x 5 m, 6.5 x 6.5 m, 6.5 x 10 m), two people are sufficient to set up the tent. For larger sizes (8.5 x 10 m, 10 x 10.5 m, 10 x 12.5 m, 10 x 15 m, 10 x 21.5 m), additional manpower is helpful. Setting up such tents is much easier when working with about five people.
Of course, as with everything, the more often you assemble such a tent, the easier it becomes and the faster/better it will go.
For smaller stretch tents (6.5 x 5 m, 6.5 x 6.5 m, 6.5 x 10 m), it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to set up the tent. For larger sizes (8.5 x 10 m, 10 x 10.5 m, 10 x 12.5 m, 10 x 15 m, 10 x 21.5 m), it’s best to allocate one and a half to two hours.
Of course, as with everything, the more often you assemble such a tent, the easier and faster it becomes.
If the poles of your stretch tent are falling over, there could be several reasons:
- There isn’t enough tension on the tent’s fabric. Tighten the straps a bit more or tilt the side poles of your stretch tent so that the fabric is pulled closer to the ground and becomes more taut.
- The poles being used are not long enough. Use longer poles, especially in the center of the tent.
- Poles of different lengths are placed too close together. Space the poles farther apart. For example, if you place a 3.50 m pole close to a 4 m pole, the fabric doesn’t press down enough on the 3.50 m pole, increasing the chance that it will fall over.
- The wind is lifting the fabric. In slightly stronger winds, it can happen that the wind lifts the fabric of the stretch tent, reducing the pressure on the poles and causing them to fall. This can be resolved by attaching a storm strap over the stretch tent. For larger sizes and connected stretch tents, you will need multiple storm straps.
Star tent
The hardware set for all our star tents is the same, regardless of the diameter of the star tent. To set up a star tent with a diameter of 10 meters, you can leave one pole out. For setting up a star tent with a diameter of 12, 14, or 16 meters, you will need all the poles from the hardware set.
Pole 2 of the hardware set consists of two parts. Sometimes, these two parts may be packed separately in the hardware set. They need to be reconnected to set up the star tent properly.
The StellarLite star tent is intended for short-term use, such as for events like weddings, where the tent may be set up for a few days.
The Stellar star tent, on the other hand, can remain set up for a long period. The tent is designed to withstand the elements and can stay up for several weeks to months.
